John Beeson's Ghost by Thomas Doty
|
|
Commissioned by the Talent Historical Society in 2001, John Beeson's Ghost is Volume 3 of The Adventures of Doty & Coyote. Master storyteller Thomas Doty weaves a tale in which he invites us to spend a night beside the grave of well known Talent pioneer John Beeson. The forward states that "It is not a biography of Beeson nor is it a history of the Indian war. Yet it draws heavily and liberally from Beeson's writing, and tells of the search for the spirit of John Beeson as it lives today." Drawings in the book are by the author, Thomas Doty and are inspired by native rock writings of the west. An inspiring and thought provoking look into the life of one of our area's most interesting and controversial citizens.
